End of the 2007

2007 has been a great year for me. Things went pretty well.
We don't have any plan for the night though we probably go out for dinner or something.
My first Christmas with new family was fun. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures. (I always have my camera with me, but always forget to take pictures.)
Oh yeah, what I got this Christmas? I got pots which you use specifically to melt chocolate + chocolate molds, lots of cookie cutters, flannel pj, warm pair of slippers etc etc and lots of chocolates. We are trying to give those sweets away though still lots on our table. Good thing we both like chocolate.

Time flys, really. It's end of the year again.
Christmas is 4 days away. For most of my friends today would be the last day at work this year. (today might be the last day for Kev too... not really sure)
Presents all wrapped. Quietly sitting under the tree. (I like wrapping things)
Since I started totally new life in this spring, I got different perspectives. Especially things between friends. Some in a good way and some not so good. I noticed that my standards are bit too strict. And I'm getting more mellow and laid back. I still really hate to be late for something. I don't like the feeling of "gosh they are waiting for me!!!" That might be the one thing I will never change. Kev is exactly same way. (Capricorn thing?) I'm okay with other people be late. I understand there must be some reasons. (and sure sometime I'm late for something too, very rare though) I don't get angry. But if it happens all the time I just give up. No expectation means no disappointment. But sometime I wonder people who's always late, they think it's ok?
Anyways, something has been bugging me all morning. Sorry I'm very grouchy.

I finished another scarf. It's for myself. And I already started another project. Scarf again (I am still very very beginner) for my dad. His birthday is coming.

Let it snow!

Sunday morning, first time in this winter I kinda had to stay in. Wind browing, couldn't see much other than white air. Outside was very quite.















Another work out for Kevin, I just supervised. (as usual) That snow started on Saturday, it wasn't as bad as Sunday though that didn't stop us walking up to Yonge/Eglinton. We usually do detour, take scnery streets. And snow browing, it took us almost twice as long to get there. My step counter on Saturday 10,247 .

Apple

I noticed some apples were sitting in the kitchen for a while, so I decided to bake Rough apple galette. It turned out ok, but! those apples are super sour.
Growing up in Japan, for me apples are supposed to be sweet with hint of sourness. Not like SOUR period. I usually don't buy very shiny kinds. I guess I wasn't really paying attention last time. Crust part is flaky and pretty good though. Oh well...
Yesterday my house was freezing cold. We can't control the heater so I wore lots of clothes. Maybe because of that I don't feel very good today...

Needle

I finished my first scarf.


I should have saved it for Christmas... it could've been one of the presents for Kev.
Oh well...
Now I'm trying to knit different patterns.



Last couple of days I haven't walked much, but on Tuesday, my step counter showed 29,449. We took subway to the shopping mall and we walked to another (outside) shopping strip.
Tomorrow I will go and take a medial exam. Maybe I should take subway... I might walk back home.

My Style

My style for winter in TO. I usually wear warm tops, leggings, (Kevin calls them long johns) skirt, and rubber boots. But two things happened with that style.
One ; people thinks I'm pregnant.
Two ; my step counter doesn't work properly.
I'm ok with One, cuz I'm married and I like kids. But I was kinda annoyed by Two. Last post about step counter, I was wearing skirt that day. I walked all the way to downtown and walked back, but the counter hit less than 10,000. Today we took subway to downtown, sure we did walked around. And took subway back home. From 10am to 2pm the counter already says 11,626. And yes, I am wearing jeans today. I need to walk from home to Spadina x Bloor and walk back home from Bloor x Bathurst again sometime. And I will make sure that I wear pants!

We started Christmas shopping last week. It's fun and pain at same time. It's like New Year in Japan. But Christmas, you gotta think about what to give. That part is kinda pain.
Surprisingly we could scratch off most of the names already. We would do some more shopping/looking tomorrow then we would be down to us. I already know what Kevin wants, but he doesn't know what I want. I thought I knew what I want but now I don't know! I will think about that this week.
Kevin got a PSP today. He's happy. (that's not Christmas present)

This is my step counter.
Kevin got me one recently.
Yesterday we walked on Spadina down to Bloor. About 2660 steps. Then walked around window shopping. (I reseted accidentaly and don't remember how many steps it was) Took different route to go home. Walked on Bathurst up home. 3550 steps.

While we were walking on Bloor, we bought our first Christmas tree together.



It's about 4'5". Nice little tree for us.
